Just removed the hard top and raised the soft top only to find that the screen has a small (3") split. I assume this is because of the cold!
Any repairers in the Kent area that can be recommended.
Also, is it possible to replace the plastic screen with glass?

Split rear screen

Hi there .........same happened last year to mine 1998 c2 ( at that age it was going to happen sooner or later ) called my Insurance and they replaced the whole roof ( as you can't replace glued screen ) with heated glass replacement.£75 glass excess ......perfect

A few years ago I used this company: http://www.carhood.com/ for my Honda S2000.

The quality was fantastic, much better than the original. Plus I got a new glass rear screen (when the original was plastic) which could be wired up for the heating elements (I never actually bothered doing this).

You can have the plastic repaired but you will need a whole new roof if you want to replace the plastic for glass.

These guys did it while I waited. There is a nice pub nearby with free wi-fi so I just sat in there for the whole day.

That's a result !!! :thumb:

I'm amazed that the Insurance company didn't have something in the small print to cover ageing plastic windows. They normally try to wriggle out of things like this

I had a windscreen replaced on a Lotus Elise, however the fitter who came out realised that the front clam had to be loosened and pulled forward slightly, something he couldn't do. Insurance company said that it would not cover this cost, although I pushed them on this and they eventually reluctantly agreed. Went to a specialist to move clam who billed Insurance company directly.
