The first lot of my tuning parts turned up today, as soon as the whole lot is here Ill pull the motor and crack on with the build.
Gotta love carrillo rods, individually packed in a fancy box !!!

Nice set of head studs (no good running girlie boost)

Alpha GT28's in Tial housings

Bigger manifolds

Pure filth!

Nice snails! Although it looks like the manifold flange interior welds could do with a little porting & polishing on the second-to-last pic ..?

Yeah I noticed that, Ill have an hour in the porting room before they go on smoothing them out.Im not so much bothered about the raised weld, that can actually work better than a smooth port just want to make sure there is nothing that can dislodge and go thru the turbo

As Deathstar quotes but in addition if you are changing headers aren't equal length headers the way to go?

Still shiney nice things! :D

Ill let you know after I dyno it :) These were good value and are rumoured to work well and IMO equal length on a turbo manifold is of no importance, it is easy to make a equal length manifold that will be terrible because too much effort has gone into making the primaries the same length and not focusing on the bends etc and anyway WHAT IS the tolerance for equal length? 5% 10% it would be nigh on impossible to get it 0% difference in runner length.
As a point the Imprezza one of the most successful race cars ever made has intentionally unequal length manifolds

I hand ported a set of standard headers for mine, which are supposed to give a decent improvement. I might be able to dig out some photos from somewhere if anybody is interested. It doesn't take long, you just have to be very thorough in the clean-up afterwards. You REALLY don't want any bits of metal going in to the turbos.

The only way to know for sure is a before and after dyno. I would say more power/better spool is available by using decent header and hotside blankets

A few more bits arrived

Fuel pump and filter, im going to make my own swirl pot system

New shifter

New exhaust cams

:envy:

total shiny car part *****! : '
- all my recent parts are black and rubbery and ultimately get tucked behind or under something...

PS. please fit the billet 997 shifter immediately!!! - surely you can fit this without any of the other bits and report back as to what the consensus is over the standard 996 or 997 linkage... :D
- I have this part number pencilled on the bottom of every parts list I compile, but can't bring myself to pull the trigger unless it proves genuinely above a standard 997 (plastic) linkage...

edit: re-perving at your first post I get the feeling that it may be a little redundant to fit the shifter linkage.......

Was going to pop it in this afternoon but got stuck in the gym !!!!!
