I have just had my GT2 serviced, since then the car on start up seems to chuck out a lot smoke from the exhaust, is this normal? and is there a way to stop it?

Also I have got to change the front radiator and two side back radiators, can anyone recommend a supplier?

I also want to replace the plastic front under trim and the plastic trim from the two front arches, can anyone recommend where to get these please?

Thanks

Erm, if they failed to empty the Turbo oil "sumps" (reservoirs) they probably over filled it.

What does the digi dipstick say?

I'd suggest its over filled, and personally would get some of the oil drained out. Had an OPC do this so my GT3 once.

you - over-filled. The arrows define the fill. Yours is one bar above the arrow - hence over-filled.

Do you know how much oil it should have in it?

How dangerous is it to drive the car with it over filled?

Yep, she's overfilled!

The fill should be to the bar below top (hence little arrowed lines).

The problem is, once there is more than 200ml excess oil, the guage can show now more (ie you could have litres of extra oil in there if they didn't know what the were doing)

Don't drive it until you have dropped some oil (overfill can damage various components due to over pressures and oil where it shouldn't be and can't be compressed)

Dare I ask if it was an Indy or OPC that did this?

As all the section are lite up on the oil gauge its impossible to tell, personally if it was my car it would being back to who ever serviced it straight away, and if that is any great distance they would be collecting it. Is it a 996 or 997?

996, does anyone know how many litres it should take in total?

may sounds stupid but what is Indy or OPC?

Irrespective of it being an indy or an OPC, this is simply unacceptable to over-fill the car! I can imagine some amateur guy could do it whislt servicing his car on the drive, but entrustiung it to a specialist be it OPC or indy is appalling as well as unacceptable. I'd suggest that it should be on a low loader and not driven to the garage - irrespective of how far the garage is.

Do know the car or can you tell from the photo? Didn't the 6 have a dip stick as well?

Up to 9 litres, but the fill advice is to add 8 litres and check (ie both turbo reservoirs and other oil retention could be upto a litre)

8 litres gets you on the oil gauge, then you add 200ml per segment up to the too arrow (ie very top segment unlit)

Indy (independent), OPC (Official Porsche Centre)

It was out of interest (and a hint to name )

But I would personally be more shocked by an OPC doing this (and I do understand shlt happens and they aren't perfect either)

But this is a textbook fail.

Even I know not to do it and I don't charge to service GT2s for a living!

I know the dashboard

No dipstick on the 996 Mezgers (mini-dipstick in filler neck on 996.1 GT3)

No dipsticks on any 997.
