The site will be going through a software migration from it's legacy phpbb v2.0.22 software to Xenforo v2.2
Due to ongoing site issues we have had to accelerate these plans.
What does this mean
In order to take a complete database of the current site, new forum posts will be paused on 17th Oct after 12noon London time.
The forum will only be available as a read only, no new posts can be added during this time to ensure there is a clean data migration.
How long will the forum not be available for ?
This is where it gets more complicated, as the final time frame is circa up to 48 hours but there are unknown factors at play at this time, due to the size of the databases.
What will the forum be like when it is restarted
It will still perform like a forum but will be a basic new Xenforo style and not completely styled as this site has been. Since we are trying to minimize the data migration risks, we will start with a basic look.
Which means on day 1 of the new forum, the following will not be available
- Classifieds
- Static Pages
- Garage
- Banner adverts
All of these will be migrated in the coming days and weeks.

Why is this change being done
Due to the pre-historic nature of the site and the problems being experienced since the server migration. We have taken the decision to move to the new site sooner rather than later.
Your assistance in these matters is appreciated, as we bring the site 15 years up to date for 2023!
