Anyone had any trouble with Porscheshop (West Midlands)???

I needed an MPH speedo with silver face to replace a silver face KPH one. I emailed them and a very helpful chap called Austin answered all my emails promptly, and after several email exchanges, established the part no. of the correct item.

I rang him on the 16th August and ordered the part and paid with my credit card. He said the part was in stock at Porsche, and would be with me in 3 or 4 days.

Since then... NOTHING! I've emailed them several times, but just get no response. I rang last week, and was told Austin 'wasn't there' and that my part would be coming.

Should I be worried? Anyone else had similar experiences?

I could instruct my credit card company to put the item into dispute. It is baffling why a company should give such brilliant initial service, and then become crap as soon as they had my dosh.

They seem ok.. But you have to be carefull with what you get.. I brought an exhaust from them and my specialist had to mess about modifying it to get it to fit, and Porsche shop did not want to know about it (I just wanted to warn them that their exhausts are wrong) and were a bit rude.

I have also heard that some of their parts are iffy knock offs, I knew my exhaust was aftermarket, (a lesson I have now learned), but apparently some of their bits are not genuine, even if they say they are.. Someone on one of the lists was very miffed with them over distributor caps for a 993.. turns out they sent out some cheap and nasty ones, instead of the BOSCH or Porsche ones.

Ciao

Paul
