Quick question, I am probably being stupid and reading the instruction wrong, but..

To assign the seat and mirror position to the key fob, I am:
Turning on the ignition (not the engine)
Putting the car in reverse (to get the tilt on the mirrors)
Setting seat and mirror positions
Pressing and holding M
Then pressing the button with the key symbol on it, beside the seat (not 1 or 2)
Then releasing both buttons
Turn off ignition
Lock it using the fob
Unlock it using the fob

But it just positions the seat all the way back each time I unlock it.

When I had a pre purchase inspection carried out, they did mention the following fault
'Seat Memory 26 mirror fault (lh)'

Any ideas?

I have had the car 2 weeks now, and wondering why I didn't buy one sooner. What a great car.

Ah, so what you mean is how do you reprogram the car (the key itself is not reprogrammed, the car just remembers a different seat position for that key).

Storing seat position to memory buttons 1 and 2:
1. Switch ignition on.
2. Set the desired seat and door-mirror positions.
If you wish for the passenger's mirror to swivel down as a parking aid when reversing, reverse gear must be engaged when the seat position is stored.
3. Keep memory button M depressed and additionally press one of the memory buttons 1 or 2.

The individual setting is now stored under the desired memory button.

The individual setting is now assigned to this remote control and to the [KEY LOGO] button.

Thanks for the reply GT4.

I followed your instructions 'Storing seat position to the key"

After step 3 I then turn off the ignition, remove the key, get out and lock the car using the button on the key, unlock it using the same button.

I have the same problem where the seat moves all the way to the back.

Any other thoughts?

Has the car had new key fobs?

Only two may be stored in the DME at a time.

So "lost" or broken ones need to be removed from the DME before a new one can be paired and then the seat position assigned.

The removal/pairing is a job for PIWIS.
