Anyone been? .I went Sunday with a few pals who brought along some heavy Jap artillery, of course the 3 had a day out as well. And she fared really well despite the cold weather, posted 1/4 mile at 12.9 the best my pals got was 13.2 so well pleased about that, but i got far to much wheel spin in 1st and 2nd gear, i was very surprised how slippery it was, you dont get no where near as much traction as what you get on a normal road.

The 4x4 turbos have the legs at the start but i crossed the line at 119mph best they could do was 106mph. A big difference there.

So checked up a good 1/4mile for mk2 GT3 is 12secs, so almost a sec to find.

I guess it would be easier when the weather warms up, or maybe what it gains in traction it looses in power hmm probably more skill reqd more like it. :p

Just be ready to be humiliated if you go in the GT3- a 911 would be a nice scalp for every ricer in a heavily tweaked up Sunny...

Do you get many 911's there.

I'd be interested in coming to my first one.

When i went, it was a RWYB day (run what you brung)

I myself wouldn't do this again the 3 was a bit out of place, had to many nobbys coming over asking silly questions.

I think they do a sports car wknd ie no novas or sierras may well go and do that again at some point i think it would be really good with some decent weather.

But ...North Weald during the spring/summer in Herts/Essex near the market is a much better strip, more professional and easier to get a run id say! hopefully its on again this year.

good work....

always wondered about those RWYB events...

but Santa Pod ain't really my thing, although more so on the limit of the ability of the clutch on my car.. but have done the odd quarter mile sprint at the GTi International events in my old golf and audi (and even won my class one!)

if I had a turbo, then i'll give it a go ! but the targa for now will have to stick to trackdays
