I'm selling my 2002 Honda S2000 to buy a 2001 996 Carrera 2 cab.

Am I insane?

"if it's a straight swop" - lol, I wish

Just waiting for the guy to turn up with my 20k for the Honda, then I'll be putting my deposit down and picking it up next week :)

That should change the weather

Hope the new owner doesn't realise his insanity prior to picking it up

Listen, we all make mistakes, I bought a Nissan Cherry Turbo once! My god, I've just admitted that in public. It had a turbo the size of a house, which took about a mile to spool up.

the honda ( notice how it doesn't get a capital H ) thrives in the nationwide Div 2 - whilst the 996 cab trades punches at the top of the Premiership.
'Nuff said.

Lets leave the footballing analogies well alone Jay Jay.

Think the lads are being a bit snoby, the S2000 is a good good car, hell of an engine blah blah, but a porsche 996 is special, really special..... dont think that once you get your first 996 you will quell your need for another car, oh no! You'll be thinkin of ways to secure a newer faster 996! Whilst reading a few reviews of the new gt3 I was pondering the market value of an A1 kidney and a matching lung, caught up in the dream of having a gt3 for sundays and the 4s for the week. Unfortunately my misses still wants her organs!

Good luck with the cab jimjam!

sorry chaps,

much as I am an avid Porsche fan, I have to say you guys are deprived if you haven't heard of the new NSX-R. The engine sound is magical!! I'd buy one now if I could afford it. My stable will eventualy have a 993rs and a NSX-R!! I'm not a badge snob. I just appreciate wonderful cars.

Nsx-r did get great reviews in evo's 2003 car of the year (it won, 4s second) and other publications also hailed it, but not a chance of me spending over £20k on a honda, even a Honda that the late and the great Senna sorted out, and owned 3 of. It may be very good driving but I cant imagine owning one would be as satisfying as owning a porker. And I dont care what anyone says residuals on an Nsx-r cant touch that of a carrera!

Anyway surely If you get a 993rs, one ot the greatest cars ever, you wouldn't want the Honda! Great stable though, Shergar would be welcomed there! :)

I've had a S2000 and I'm not a badge snob now that I have a 911, but I have to say that the NSX-R is a great drivers car but it does look extremely dated now both inside and out.

Sorry Sarbs,

I' m sure the residuals for the NSX-R will be excellent and will only appeal to those who really appreciate something special (this side of a F-40). I take it that you have never driven a Honda?

993RS scheduled for May :D
