I did say that I would post some pics of the rustproofing I had done before Xmas. It was done up at Classic Preservation who are just south of Birmingham...

First the plastics and wheels were removed and everything was given a thorough clean.

Then up onto the ramp, this is before:

This after:

Into all the nooks and crannies:

New fixings where needed:

and even protection into the headlights (and mine had traces of rust):

All in all a good experience, they had the car a week as it made it easier for me to drop it off and pick up on a Saturday. They even dropped me off and picked me up from Birmingham International Station :-)

They had some great projects going on, a lovely Merc Pagoda, Aston V8 etc. Next to discuss my BMW 2002 Baur with them...

Fair point, didn't think anybody would be interested in the 993 forum! It's a recent purchase, same owner for past 30 years (in which he covered 2k) and was a show car. Needs a little tlc but it is in good condition with the added bonus of it being a factory black car which are like rocking horse doo doo, especially the Baur.

Now back to 993s....!
