Running headphones. Headphones for running.

Dear All.

I desperately need to replace my iPod headphones what I use for running.

I'm looking for some that will stay in place without the need for wearing a beany hat to keep them in place, are sweat resistant - plus they'll need to sound great too!

Just wondering if anyone out there can recommend some that are currently regarded as conducive to this particular leisure pursuit!

Thanks in advance! :thumb:

Sennheiser pmx60 from amazon are great for the money, I bought the wife some for £30 for running, theyre now £24.99, they clip over the ears with a rear band which holds full ear cones in place, she runs with them, I borrow them in the gym and on the punch bag sometimes, excellent value, if you crush them in ya gym bag no big crisis! :D

Thanks Dave! I'm really looking for some in-ear jobs as I find that my Britney Spears get a bit hot with ones like these! :D

The Sure ones are nice - but not [sure] about running with them as I might get run over and - as you say - they probably won't stay in very well.

Thanks both anyway! :thumb:

Yeah, I suppose you want some external sounds coming through! I personally use Sennheiser CX300II (~£35) to listen to my iPod. They come with different sized buds so you can get them to stay in the ear reasonably well, though I'm an unfit lazy git so can't say whether running would dislodge them

Make sure you buy from a reputable trader as there are a lot of cheap fakes out there - I'd buy direct from amazon...

I've been using sennheiser IE8s for the last 4 years or so. Brilliant sound, adjustable bass, and if you replace the provided silicone tips with the squashable foam type, the fit is perfect. I use mine for everything, they have been to the desert a couple of times, through the washing machine at least twice and the tumble drier once.

Strongly recommend.

I gave up years ago, and jog/run without music. I used to live down the beach and it was bliss... hear the waves crashing against dirty people on benefits (Lowestoft).

You can enjoy the sound of nature without looking at people, though. Now my hip is knackered I can only use treadmill, briefly :-(

Don't know if they'll stay in place but the gadget show rated Shure SE215 as the best in-ear bud headphones in a recent test - amazon have them for about £80...

I have the shure se215's with custom earphone sleeves (the sleeves cost more than the headphones!!) and I have to say they are amazing. Best headphones I have had by a long way. I will never have in ear's again with out custom sleeves.

........

Bought the wife some wireless ones as she goes to the gym.

Denon. Should have been £120 but I shopped around and got them for £75.
Several colours, a pouch which will clip on, in ear clip ons, premium sound (as you would expect from Denon).

Wife says they never fall out.

Cons...........iPod must have Bluetooth, you have to remember to charge them.

I have Klipsch and are very small and fit snugly but I wouldn't guarantee they will not pop out when running. Brilliant sound. The soundstage feels like it is expanded outside the dimensions of your head. When they first appeared, they retailed at £230 but I managed to find them at £90.

I think you would be better off with wireless as wires banging against your body can induce an interference sound in the speakers :thumb:

Didn't put the model..........AH-W150
