its an RS, without the damage it would have been worth circa £55k!

It wont be worth £55k with an accident against it ever!

How much would you pay for it once its repaired?

I suppose I was wrong re the £30k, but still I would be surprised if anyone would be prepared to pay more than £42k for a car with prev damage to that extent.

I have seen cat d 993 turbo 4's for as low as £37k rhd repaired.

There are a few immaculate LHD out there for E60k = £40k - another good reason to go LHD

Looks a decidedly dodgy proposition to me. Could need bodyshell straightening and all sorts...

Actually it happened on the way to Le Mans last year (2004). It belonged to a mate of my brother-in-law who thought he could get away with the trip with 2 balding front tyres. Apparently he was having a kip and his mate was driving when it aquaplaned in the pi**ing rain and took out 50m of armco on the motorway. They're still mates too!

What would constitute a stupid question one wonders...

I suppose the engine would be worth a few bob. Beyond that, whilst it has a proper RS identity, it will always have this against it.

Rebuild costs look at least £20k worth. A no-stories 44k mile RHD RS would fetch no more than £55k from a dealer. It would be interesting to have it assessed by a specialist.

Can't see it fetching any more than £35-40k rebuilt.

Worth £15k tops I reckon and an interesting project for those long winter evenings.

Perhaps one for Total 911 magazine to do as a monthly feature, feature title "Totalled 911" ha ha ha ha.
