If ever McLaren needed to swallow it's pride and put RD back into the F1 team, now is the time. Spygate is history now.

He belongs in F1 and would, IMO, stop the rot that Whitmarsh and co have started over the last few seasons.

Any man than can drive a F1 team forward and win 15 out of 16 races in a season will never lose that ability.

Yes he is a complex guy but he can motivate people like few others in F1. The relationships he had with Lewis, Senna and Mikka in particular were just fantastic. Senna only really trusted two guys in F1....the late Prof Sid Watkins and Ron Dennis.

"'You cut yourself, you bleed McLaren," he said. "We're about winning, we care about how we win ... we want to win with the right principles, the right values. If people don't want to be part of that and want to go and do different things, then fine."

McLaren need him back in F1......and soon.

Very true they need that man in the F1 cockpit.

Mclaren Autos, still a good venture, not a surprise sales have been sluggish considering how competitive the market is.

Wonder if they're bring a smaller MP4-12C rival to the GT3 !

Would you buy it though - I thought you were an Aston Martin man?

:floor:

Aston :hand:

That's an ex Team Principal I miss seeing on the F1 grid.

Agree it would be good to see him back at the F1 team. However, I'm not surprised they have only sold half the amount of planned cars....i mean has anyone had a good word to say about it? Initial cars were panned by the press and even if the extensively revised later cars its an uphill struggle from there..

If i had that sort of cash for a car it would not be a weirdo suspended, robotized turbo that looks like a nissan on the inside...soulless. Therein, IMHO, lies their issue.

My Nissan interior doesn't look like a McLaren's

:hijack: Sorry.

Seriously the MP4-12C was TV & magazine tested alongside the 458 and suffered because every tester slated the Macca for being too easy to drive in comparison.

Well, to me, its along the same theme...

I think hard to drive with the magic buttons turned off, the plato needell test had them spinning it all over the shop and not in a good way.
