Ok.....got the porsche prince seat, how on earth do you fit it in the back of a 993? How does the rear belt route through it?

I have tried every possible way, but it is way too loose to have a 9 month old in it! I must be doing something wrong?

HELP!!!!!

Perry, We have the Porsche Junior Seat which is similar to the prince model. Our daughter was not big enough to fit in it until she was over 13mths old.

As far as I know the Porsche Prince seat being sold now would not fit the 993 rear seat. We've got the old one which was made by Romer, basically a lump of foam, with lap belt block. That fits ok but our daughter is now 14mth old and still too small for it, but then she is diddy for her age.

Does any one know of any online shopd that have a seat that'll fit the back of my 964? My kid is only 4 months at the moment but I'm looking already for the right seat. My kid is quite big for his age as well so I might be able to beat that 9 month age thing which most seats seem to suggest.

I managed to get hold of a M&P Sicuro, for age Birth-6, will fit in reear seats of 993/964, but will need extra long belt or belt extension.

Assuming you have the older Porsche prince, i.e. the Romer one:- The seat goes on the back seat, child sits in it, the top goes on and then you take the seat belt, holding the lap and the shoulder bit together and feed them under the top bit and plug into the seat belt socket, job done.

oo er, I knew that my lad was big, but he comfortably fitted at 9 months, but at 2 1/2 is now almost too big, so need to go up a level before we head off to Le Mans.

Hopefully we can get a 4-12 sized seat that fits both the 911 and the Mondeo, so no need to have two seperate ones. We have a M&P Protec one in the Mondeo, god alone knows how people get them in the back of a 911 though.

Ben: Peugot were selling Romer prince seat, on their their website until very recently, but I can't find it anymore.

I guess ours will be up for sale soon, as we won't be needing it anymore.

Last I heard was that Mercedes are selling the Romer seat, not seen it myself though.

I think you will find that the nine month rule is also to do with muscle strength. The child has to have the upper body and neck strenght to support their head in a forward facing seat.

It should just plonk onto the back seat, put nipper in, put the table thingy in front of nipper and then run the seatbelt through the guides (i.e. both the lap and shoulder belts run through the guide on one side, out the other and into the latch.

It does not fit in a "rigid" way like other car seats, instead relying on the inertia reel to hold the seat in place in a crash. It must be safe as it passed the German TUV tests. The beauty of course is that there is no way nipper can get out- our 2 yr old went through a phase of getting out of the belts in the other car seats- no way out of the Prince!

I'd be surprised if a 9m old was big enough to go in one though, because of the height of the table.

I am assuming the model has not changed?

Worked out where i'm going wrong! Thought I had the extended belts, but it appears I don't, apparently Porsche don't do the extended belts in guards red only black. The seat is the Porsche branded Romer/Britax seat, states on the side 9kg - 20 kg weight range, think it's 9mths to age 4.

So I'm getting one of the old black rear belts re webbed at quickfit safety belt service for £47 in guards red, then I will have enough material to get the shoulder and lap bits in the table guide.

Thanks for the info.
