Porsche Becker CDR-22 display / contrast

My 993 is fitted with a CDR-22 Porsche CD/Radio head. Is there any way of altering the display contrast on this as the LCD is too dim in its installed position to view from the driver's seat (without sitting upright and peering over the top of it)?
