Porsche 996 Fast Road / Track Car - Oversize Build

Watched the video on the intake mods. First thing I noticed is that there didn't seem to be any large fans blowing to simulate air flow. Surely the big thing with our cars is that they need the air flowing down over the roof?

Also I cave and aero car. Would there be any benefit to fitting some sort of a scoop over the grill to give a ram air effect? Am I right in saying the rs's and possibly newer gt3's have this?
