Common problem.
There is a fulcrum on the gearbox linkage situated under the gearbox that becomes corroded. The result is stiff operation and eventually it will fail to engage park correctly causing the car not to start in park.
Remedy is simple get some one to operate the gear selector whilst you lie under the gearbox the offending pivot point will become obvious. A little heat and wd40 will sort the problem. Then protect with grease etc to prevent re acurence :thumb:
