Need a little help please...

I have a phone module running throught he PCM in my new 997, however to avoid always transferring my sim card, I intend to forward calls to my mobile to a secondary sim number that will stay in the car.

However, when making calls from the car, I do not want this second number to register (to avoid confusion), but number witholding does not seem to work through the car system.

Does anyone have any advice as to how I can withold my number from this second sim card in the car, or any better way round the transferring the sim problem ?

Thanks in advance

Alasdair

Which network are you with?

I had this same issue and found out that Vodafone offer a multi-sim set up where you can have 2 sim cards for the same number. My company car has a Nokia 6310 handsfree setup so I leave one sim card in that phone and leave it permanently in the car. The second sim is in my phone I use outside of the car.

You activate whichever sim you wish to make/receive calls/texts on by sending a short code to the network. That phone then becomes the active one.

When I investigated this about 18months ago Voda were the only network to offer this. The others may do this now too.

Thanks for that.

The company use Orange but whilst they are happy to give me a second Sim Card, they cannot give the same number on two cards.

Such a bind.......

Can't you switch to Voda?

Not really - It's a company thing

Also, reading other forums, I understand that Voda have stopped this service

Will need to sort something out

Really? Are they about to pull it for existing set ups too?
