Hi, I've had a search of the forum, but have not found out an answer to my question.

I'm panicking (slightly  ) due to the fact that after ringing around locally there is no optimax to be had within the 11 miles I have left in my tank. I am due off on a group trip to Wales early tmrw morn and no petrol station in my area expects any in before then. :(

So my question is, does anybody know if I will do any damage if I fill up with 95 RON unleaded until i can find optimax? Or am i just being silly? :p

Thanks in advance...

yes, of course you can use the cheaper stuff....just fill up with whatver you normally have at the earliest opportunity....

engine timing adjusts to 95ron

porsche recommend super unleaded for optimum performance

The DME will retard the ignition slightly to avoid knocking. Thus, your engine will produce a bit less power, but I'd be surprised if you'd notice much difference in normal road driving.
