Mornin'

Just started looking around 996's, with a view to buying a '99 C4 Coupe in March/April.

Has anyone had any good/bad dealings with Paragon in Sussex?

Also, are C4's rarer and therefore more expensive? It seems that C2's are everywhere in comparison...

thanks!

They have a pretty good reputation. I found them a very friendly outfit and readily offered test drives. Didn't buy from them, but quality of their stock is high - reflected in their prices!

Not sure about C4 vs. C2 prices for 996 (there's little or no difference on 993's) - but C4's weren't introduced until a bit after C2's, so I guess there are fewer of them.

Thanks for the response. Are there specialists that you would particularly recommend? I know of Northway, Camtune, Cridfords, RSJ and Paragon so far. Who did you buy off?

cheers

Hi David,

I've always found Paragon helpful (having popped in there on and off for several years before actually managing to buy a 911) and backup Vic's comments. They're not the cheapest but the quality of their stock is commensurate and they've always got a good stock of 996s.

I actually bought my 993 from Paul Stephens Specialist Cars (http://www.paul-stephens.com/) and recommend them highly. Nice people, great service, good quality cars. They're on the Essex/Suffolk border up the M11.

Cheers

Richard

C4's (like mine) are more expensive but there is a clever 4 wheel drive system to pay for and PSM thrown amoungst other things

I have been very pleased with mine for what its worth.

i'v got the C2 which according to motoring journo's is all you really need.

its slightly lighter, slightly faster, slightly better consumption, and you get a useful front boot area. i've got to say it never feels unsafe and i've never had any stability issues, although the PSM has kicked in from time to time....

actually if you're after a high-spec show stopper like mine, i'm open to offers.... :)
