Im kind of sheepish about posting this, and it is not usually the kind of thing I would consider, but I do quite like it...

The company offering the service is in the USA, no good to me.
Sp, has anyone tried to do this ? Halfords black gloss paint supposedly would do the job.

Advice/Suggestions/Thoughts/Comments please?

Thanks,

At first I was quite dismissive however having checked out the links they actually don't look too bad.

Would I spend the money on having it done? probably not but if you like the thought of individualising your car then go for it. I prefer the black as it reminds me of the Gen II.

Hey Zantaz, yes I was too, but it does look good and would also go with black myself. I just think the faux plastic/metal of the gen1 is getting long in the tooth and looks pretty dated now.
I would not pay nearly $500 dollars for it though, the company charging that is also asking their customers to remove and disassemble the parts! Flipping cheek.
I might have a go myself, but it is one heck of a risk, if it goes wrong it will be a right mess and expensive to put right.

But it does look very nice.

Mmmm.

to be honest I've never really given the faux plastic/metal dash much thought until now but you're right it is becoming a bit dated.

I'm not sure what they do to justify the $500 given you're expected to remove the system for them. :o

Looks pretty good from the pics mate, but I'd want to make very sure a professional painter could guarantee a perfect finish - I wouldn't dare risk a DIY job :o

I was also thinking of something similar. After watching the episode of Wheeler Dealers where they did a carbon dipping at Wicked Coatings for the Range Rover, I was looking at their website and saw some of their work on various forums (esp the center console on Aston V8 - a popular mod), I started to consider it as an option...

Anyone has thoughts on or has done an interior trim modification at the Wicked Coatings?

I was impressed with the Wheeler Dealers stuff on that Range Rover (not normally a fan of carbon fibre, even the genuine stuff). In moderation and against the right interior, think it would look very nice.

I might have a go next week, dies anyone know if the car will function for a few days without the pcm2 head unit and other console parts? If I can take them out and leave them out for a few days and still use the car I am more likely to have a go at this.

I did think about masking the buttons, but having had a look I think the facias have got to come off, and this may take some time.
