What is the view on the best oil stain remover?

Try neat Fairy Liquid left overnight and then scrubbed off!

Cat litter is good for soaking up oil, but washing-up liquid does a reasonable job of removing tha stain. I doubt it will disappear completely though.

Any degeaser such as Simple Green.

Gunk would be the best, then use washing up liquid after. You can get gunk in Halford.
