Oil Level

My Targa 4 997 has a small oil leak, I've put in about 1L in 12 months (passed it's MOT with it recently). I ran the oil level check, and it was on the lowest level and flashing, so I put 1L in it. Ran the check, and it came up as lowest level, but thought not much of it as the car was on a slope. Came to work this morning, 30 miles, and it's flashing at me again. Obviously don't want to overfill, and there was no great puddle under the car this morning, so I don't think it's come straight out. Faulty oil level sensor maybe?

Thoughts and opinions are much appreciated.

Always worth adding it slowly in 250ml increments. Have a drive of the car to make sure the oil you added has made it down the neck to the bottom of the engine, park somewhere flat and see what it says after cooling down. The vagueness of the reading does annoy me! Could be the sensor after all that.

Thanks. I've had it parked up on the flat all morning, just been down to see what it says now, and it's showing half full! The vagueness is extremely annoying!

Mine is similar, and any slight incline change seems to make a large difference! My driveway is at least consistent so I kinda have to run with that.

How I wish they carried the dipstick over from the 996 to the 997….makes life easier
There was a right up on here on a conversion for a dipstick on a 997 couple years ago…..

I saw that... It was only on the 3.6 engine.
