looking to do my first oil change on my 2005 997 carrera s cab that has covered 34k
now i have looked over and over at the oil recomendations and its a huge can of worms :eh!:
but looking at the list from opie oils im able to narrow down my selection

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/product-f...05/911/PETROL/911/24616/product-finder-2.aspx

now its asking for standard or uprated engine oil so im not sure to be honest what would be best to go for,

im quite a caerful driver, no track time at all but i do like a good spirited drive and love the sound after 5k rpm saying that i do wait until its fully warmed up and also a good cooling down period

not wanting to open a can of worms again but from the list could anyone give their recomendation either standard or uprated in a reasonable price range.

im going to do the service myself and iirc 8L of oil should be required

any help greatly appreceated

for a quick tried and tested answer, without reading reams of opinions:

2 x 5 litres Titan race Pro S 5-40

8 litres is not enough, don't forget your oil filter, Mahle or Hangest:

Stick with what Porsche recommend, Mobil 1 0-40.
Costco will do 10L of it for circa £60.

is this the oil your thinking of?

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68897-fuchs-titan-race-pro-s-5w-40-ester-synthetic-engine-oil.aspx

looks pretty good stuff, i use the 10w 50 in my modified 300zx tt
with having the engine recently rebuilt i was advised to use the fuchs oil and have done so with great confidence,

is it better to go origional parts with the oil filter?

OEM :thumb:

just been googeling the oil filters quite a few have been using
K&N oil filters whats the general feeling here about oil filters best to stay oem or k&n
also where is best to get the oil filter and air filter from?
