Well sold the 993 and now the search is on for a replacement.

Unfortunately the chance of it being another Porsche is slim, what with reliabilty issues and falling values, but you never know!

Falling values - everything else falls off a cliff doesn't it?

I bought the targa 3.5 years ago for 36750 with 20k miles, now has 47k miles and I would hope to get 32k - try that with a new 3 series BMW!

Sad news. Hope it went to a good home? Were you happy with what you got for it in the end?

I'm sure whatever you buy will turn out mighty shiny!

Are you any closer to deciding on the replacement?

Went to a very good home, the guy who bought it is involved with motorsport and seemed a geniune enthuisist.

I may have found something, but time will tell

Glad to hear it. Always makes it easier when a fine car finds a good home.

Come on share the shortlist William!

Don't have a short list as I cannot make up my mind what I want. Have gone from something sporty to sensible back to, god knows .............. :?

Saying that having a test drive in a Gransport on Saturday. Of course there is a 996TT in the OPC next door.

Was at the OPC this afternoon and took my eldest daughter along. Massive dissapointment she is too tall to sit in the back of the TT :(
, however have arranged a test drive of another turbo model for tomorrow morning, then onto the Gransport after that!

Well thought the Maserati was excellent inside and out, fantastic torquey engine and sport mode made the exaust sound fantastic, but there was something missing. Can only describe it as the same as when I drove the 996 and found it quite boring or maybe uninvolving maybe a better way to describe it after driving a 993. It was very fast, felt very safe and ny wife loved it! By the why she hated driving the 993 :)

The big surprise was the Cayenne Turbo, absolutley incredible. With the PASM you could either drive it as a normal albeit very fast 4x4, but once the sport mode was chosen and the car lowered it drove like a sports car.

Now going tomorrow to try the normally aspirated 4.5S Cayenne and see how that compares to the turbo
