Thought I would share my knowledge and experience with all you people in the Southwest. Ian has just set up Porschemode in Bristol. They are hopefully going to open in the next few weeks. Ian has an excellent history with porsches to the extent he does not have a clue what to do with a K-series engine from a rover or any other car for that matter but give him a flat six and he is off. He has looked after two of my cars and has always done a superb job. He has just sorted out a few electrical probs on my 993 as a favour and likes to show people how to do minor things themselves. I think they are doing special deals on servicing when they open so I recommend you pay a visit. My car always seems to run like a dream after spending time in Ian's hands which makes me feel comfortable that any money spent has been well worth it.

Get stuck in!!

Thanks for the heads up Charlie. Spoilt for specialists in the area now.

I always use Brian Woodward (Woodward Motors). His place looks like a Porsche graveyard, but he sure knows his stuff.

There is also Porschetech in the centre of Bristol somewhere. Never used them, but have heard some good reports.

Hi Charlie, Is Ian up and running yet ? where is he based?

Think I recognise the name, did he once work for a Bedminster so called specialist ?

It would be interesting to know, I could do with some genuine help

He is starting to get things together. I think he was having a few problems with the paper work for the new premises but is due to open about now. Yes Ian did work in Bedminster. His website is up and running but I cant rember it but his number is 07971 001 924 so give him a ring.

I'm pretty new to Porker ownership - I bought my car from Autobahn in Coventry who run PCT. I was told that they have a very good reputation and was going to give them a go even though they are 100 miles away! Would be worth finding more out about Ian though.

Porschemode and Ian Parsons are just waiting for the new workshop legalities to be sorted out so they can move in and get set up. They have all the kit ready to go so I think its just the paper work they are waiting for. Ian still works on my car from home for the time being. When we meet up for a bit of banter about our cars Jonny, Ian is going to come along as well so you can meet him then. When shall we get together??? There is a good pub by David LLoyd called the Dovecoat thats got a car park or shall we aim for the centre?? i'm flexible as I live near the centre.

Porschemode Bristol

Anyone else used them, I had them supply and install some new sport silencers, made by Dansk, 'good' value at £800 fitted but left with mixed feelings?

By the way their website is now http://www.porschmode.co.uk/
though i see its only a holding page at the moment

BUt if you add new to the URL you get this, guess it a work in progress:

http://www.porschmode.co.uk/new/

I like the way that they are "Bristol's leading Porsche repair specialist" yet they haven't even opened for business yet. :)

They assume tomorrows reputation today! :D

No, sorry I guess I did not make it clear that they are open, as I say above I used them recently, its just the website that being updated.

Mind you the garage could do with some money spending on it, a lot of money !

Any recent experience of porschmode or of advanced car care in filton? Went to look at them both, porschmode looked a bit "back street" but they had a few porsches in, whereas ACC looked better but were working on rovers and vauxhalls.

Feedback on Bristol area Porsche specialists

JKH112, or anyone else how fancies helping out

Did you ever get any useful info on Porsche independents or any 1st hand experience. In the process of buying a 996 turbo & want a vehicle inspection, plus someone to use once I have this new car. Thanks for any info/advise on the Porschemode/Advanced carcare or any alternative in the SW.

Cheers
GF

No feedback yet, my service is due soon and I still don't know who to take it to.

That would be the same Porsche dealership who couldn't understand why I wanted the service to include an oil change, because "the oil only needs changing every 2 years".
