New paint and Zymol

Just got my 993 back from Premier after a new rear quarter paint and full machine polish following the minor skirmish with an idiot who could not park, paint is gleaming and needs to be Zymolled.

My question is this, can I apply Zymol (Destiny) after only 3-4 days of paint?

Phil....help....

I'm no expert, but I'd make a few of observations.

The body shop has already applied some wax, I suspect, so adding some lovely Zymol should be OK.

But since the paint is so new I'd be wary about going through the HD Cleanse routine...

To play it really safe, if the paint is gleaming now, leave it a couple of weeks or so before Zymol. It'll still look good in the interim... 8)

Sorry poon, missed this post.

I always advise customers to speak with the body shop first, they'll be able to advise how long the paint should be left prior to any applications of any products. Best to play it safe.

In theory though, I would agree with Maxy M.

thanks guys, as the car is clean I don't want to drive it before waxing as I'll have to clean it again first. Will check with Premier although I suspect that as they offered to Zymol it for me that it can't be bad for the paint, they even suggested that they at least hd-cleanse it for me. They didn't though.

If the car has just had a panel sprayed you want to leave it for at least 4 weeks ik not longer to allow the curing process to be completely finished.

I got that tip from a top bodyshop owner who would never have any type of polish in his workshop as airborne particles could ruin a newly painted car.

Hi O

I do it myself, quite enjoy it, sad I know. If you lend me your new turbo cab for a weekend I'll zymol it for free
