BMW 320Cd Sport would be an excellent drive, and a great pleasure to punt about in. Failing that, a BMW 120Tdi.

Jag X-type Td?

Seat Ibiza Cupra Tdi had rave reviews in Evo magazine.

Or if you can take cash and buy used, a 330Ci returns over 33mpg on my commute and is a great cruiser and b-road basher.

assuming you will end up with a new co car

nought wrong with the golf.... as you know the audi is the same car and you pay for the badge...... so not much else to say........ although there are very nice & fully reversable remaps available for those TDi's.... and with 250+lbs torque you really can't go wrong ..... apart from the limited rev range !

a BMW 120, I'm sure it is nice but HOW MUCH !

really depends on the co car budget and Co2's......

Smart money would probably go on a Skoda Octavia RS... same as a VW/Audi, but you pay less tax.
