I went to Ruf HQ yesterday to drop of my car for them to have a look at its suspension set up. When we arrived our contact was out on a test drive with a customer, so we were sat in the reception watching their corporate DVD and having a coffee when Mr Ruf arrived , introduced himself (he didnt really need to tell us who he was, as he was on the screen behind !!) he spent a few minutes talking to us, making sure we were being looked after etc. In the foyer they had a yellow GT2 (on uk plates) and a red RUF 993 turbo with 2 miles on the clock.............mmmmmmm.
My contact arrived back and we spend 20 mins talking about my car and its handling problems and what they could do to make it better, after which he took us on a tour of their facilities - tucked away in its own room was a 959 owned by a member of Bahrain royal family, in for a complete respray (even though the paintwork looked better than on my car), complete with only 234 miles on the clock........
I was supposed to have their
courtesy car
( a Ruf Boxter), but at the least minute it wasnt available, which was a disappointment, but when we collect my car on friday, im due for a test drive in one of their new 997 turbo's............so guess who can't sleep!
I forgot my camera yesterday, but will take some pics on friday and post them.
All in all i was very impressed, they really are customer focussed and seemed very keen to sort out my cars issues - TBH i felt a bit insignificant arriving in just a regular 993....
If you get the chance i recommend a visit, they do group visits, while we were there some Greek chaps were getting the red carpet treatment and as we were leaving got chatting, one of them said "is that your 993 out front?, very nice........"
Which made the 3 hour drive back in a poxy hired Seat more bearable..........
