After having the car 'detailed' on Saturday, I thought I should take some pictures - it was quite an overcast day, so it's hard to appreciate the depth of shine that Ben achieved on the car!Sidicks

Lovely motor mate! How many miles you clocked up in it? I can't stop driving my 997! I take the long way round to wherever I go as often as possible!!!

nice car and a good spec with sports seats and thankfully you decided not to waste money on that heavy and ugly rear wiper !

Those sports seats look great - have put them on my wish list for my 997!

Yes, the adaptive Sports Seats aren't cheap (circa £1,700 IIRC), but they are electrically adjustable in all directions, supremely comfortable, and grip you securely!

Only 350 miles so far, but that will soon be over 1,000 after I visit my parents in Cornwall in a couple of weeks' time. Looking forward to exploring the upper reaches of the rev range once the running-in period is over!!

Early days yet - still barely done 400 miles, but there are a few things that are apparent: 1) The 3.8 has much more torque than the 3.2 in the M3. Even with the current 4k rpm limit during the running in period, the car feels very powerful 2) Despite the Sat Nav (which I never had on the M3) the upright windscreen etc makes the car feel slightly old fashioned. Having said that, the car also feels really expensive - almost to the point where I could justify it being worth almost the price of 2 M3s ! 3) The driving position is superb - the adaptive sports seats grip you perfectly and all cliches aside, you really feel like yo are one with the car. Going back to the M3 I felt I was sitting on the car, if that makes sense? There is also a gorgeous view of the wider rear haunches of the C4S from the wing mirrors! 4) Biggest downside is the fact that the wife likes driving it (whereas she hated the M3), meaning that I'm going to have to share it more......When we delivered my M3 to its new owner in Bognor, she drove the Porsche, and I followed in the M3 and she had a big smile on her face when she got out of the car!!! But it's not like a 996 C4S is such a bad car.................!!

I saw a basalt black / cinnamon brown C4S Cab today - took me breath away! I do feel that the 996 C4S was a special special car! Biggest regret! I didn't buy one!!!!

Lovely car, nice colour combination.

Having briefly tracked a997 C4S, with the sports seats, I agree that they are superb.

If I was buying new, I would proably go for the 19" Spoke alloys.

Interesting comment re the BMW M3, I test drove one of those, and felt that whilst it was very fast, that it was no-where near the 911 as far as feel, for driving.

Lovely pics.

Has your wife made any comments about the sports shifter being heavy on the wrist?

When you get down to Cornwall drop off the A30 at Okey and take the old road to Launceston, if you know it you will not be disappointed in how the C4S does that road. Also the Atlantic Highway to Barnstaple is good early in the morning.
