Hello everyone and especially Mick and Asim who I have already 'talked' to on another forum on this site.

I bought a black '96 993 just over a week ago and am thrilled to bits with it. It is like nothing else I have ever driven, but then again, I am preaching to the converted in saying this I guess. Anyway, I tried to download some pictures before but it didn't work so am trying again with smaller files this time.

Great looking car Mark, what wheels are they?

Thanks! I still can't stop grinning.

The interior is pretty much standard apart from white dials (which I presume aren't standard?), an aluminium handbrake and gear lever. The seats are leather, standard Porsche seats I presume, not the hard back seats (what is the advantage of the hard back seats?). I have fitted a Britax child seat (hard back!!) in the rear for my two year old daughter, she loves the car too!.

The wheels are 18" Gemballa's with a Porsche badge in the centres, tyres 285/30s on the rear, 225/40s on the front. Gemballa sport suspension kit.

As for the mufflers, I am not sure that they are RSRs, I think it is just the tips that have been changed although it does sound different from other 993s I have heard. Would just changing the tips make any difference to the sound? The reason that I don't think that they are RSRs is that the guy I bought it off did most of the mods like wheels, suspension, body kit, but said he hadn't touched the exhaust. The owner before him hadn't done any mods apart from what appears to be the exhaust tips, unless he had put RSR mufflers on, not sure how to tell.

Took it to Gemballa yesterday (where it has been getting serviced for the last couple of years) and the guys there know the car well. Bought a 'free flow' air fliter (not sure if that makes any difference?) and had the airbox drilled.

Am thinking about getting the calipers painted red (I see from other threads on this site, some of you like that, some don't), they are black currently. Also am considering getting the "S" split grill. Any views on that?

Cheers
