To say that today was a good day would be a massive understatement. It was awesome!! Exactly 56 days after putting in the order I was able to drive her home, and I'm totally in love with it :)

The PSE is just insane, especially when you drive in town... the pops, burbles and other noises are just intoxicating. I upgraded from a BMW Z4, and the handling is a million miles better in the 911. I took quite a few speed bumps today, even very high ones, and I didn't touch the bottom of the car once. With the -20mm springs I was very worried about this.

I purposefully didn't want to do a test drive, even though my dealer had a 4S in the shop when I ordered the car, and offered a test drive. I also didn't want him to start the engine when I ordered the car, as I wanted to be totally surprised when I would pick it up, and surprised I was!

I have attached some iPhone photos, but will go out soon to do a proper photo shoot with it. The only thing still missing are the wheel spacers, as I want the wheels to come out a bit.

With 50km on the clock we stopped for some food. Come back to the car 30 minutes later... some bird had taken a giant sh*t on the back of the car... I couldn't believe my eyes. but then you fire up the engine... and all is forgotten :D

That looks lovely (apart from the bird crap). I can totally understand what you mean about no test drive and not hearing the engine beforehand. Having a new experience like that in your car must be special. It is a great spec you have put together there, enjoy it :thumb:

Looks amazing and a great spec. Would like to see a pic of the interior with the red leather.

Can't believe the bird *****, hope you got it off quick because that will eat through the lacquer .

I'll have to start saving but with a new baby arriving yesterday think I'll have to stick with my 997 4s for a while.

Enjoy the drive.
Kevin.

Congragulations!!

Sadly, birds love shiny cars

Lovely wee write up, and what a car, looks absolutely fantastic, where are you, SA?

Congrats on the new car - looks great. How is the ride on UK road surfaces with the -20mm drop?

Love this shot with the full panoramic roof contrasting with the white :thumb:

Hi

I personally like the older air cooled cars, but if I was in the fortunate position to be able to afford such a car I would have it pretty much in the spec and colour combo you have chosen. I think for the money there is nothing else that even comes close.

Wishing you well to drive her!

Berni

That's a stunning car :thumb: ditto the comment about getting the bird poo off asap! :o

Brilliant, congrats!

Love the contrasting roof :thumb:

That's a beauty

Enjoy!!

Thank you for the kind messages!

One option I found out that I forgot to spec is the 'online services' feature for 210 bucks... it adds a lot of cool features to do the PCM if you have a smartphone. After looking online I don't think it can be retrofitted.

Just got home from a 700km road trip. Left the house 9AM this morning, been getting to know the car today. So far I'm on 900km total. Another day like this and I can really find out what this engine can do. So far I have not gone over 4.5k RPM... and it already sound sooooo good.

@Maxie, I do not live in the UK but in the south of Europe, but the B roads here can be rather crappy too sometimes. So far I love SPASM setup, its not too hard at all, and I have taken at least 3 dozen speed bumps, some which were huge, and never touched the bottom or front lip (yet). I am very happy about this, as I was very worried the -20mm would be an issue. But it's not :)

Congratulations. It looks absolutely fantastic. :thumb:

A very good look, big on kerb appeal.
