My 2011 987-2 Boxster Black Edition

My mission this year is to convert the NW crew to boxsters, FZP has already succumbed but I fear Sponge will always be a lost cause

Hmmmm, a convertible is bad enough a convertible boxster, nooooooooo :nooo:

Finally !!!!.......managed to get out on a fast road run in the boxster :drive: ....and in a group which I've not done for years ....great to get out with a bunch of guys who are not afraid to drive these cars as they should be :thumb:

So the NW 911UK crew met up at various points to make it over for a run around the Forest of Bowland with fish and chips in Settle as the destination.....

initially I followed Harrie in his Exige 410 :cigar: for a gentle amble up the M6......the noise from that thing made the boring part of the trip very entertaining

....the final meet up point was Booths in Clitheroe to empty bladders

Spot the wingless wolf in sheeps clothing :hand:

We then proceeded on the route proper.......too fast to safely take any pics but lets just say I had fun following the GT3 Touring :thumb:

I was a fantatic run out.....you really can't beat a fast B road run, with great weather, light traffic on unfamiliar undulating and twisty roads (the weather had been mixed earlier but dry and it was effectively an evening run)......reminds you what driving is really all about away from the traffic light grand prix's  .....being back in convoy at pace really is an experience to be shared, as much as I love a solo run there is something added with the shared experience......

The run back was a little more gentile but great none the less as the sun set over the scenary on offer......we even managed the obligatory Ribble Viaduct pics....

Here's hoping for more of the same this summer

ps big up to Frank who showed what a bit of Aussie enthusiasm and a £5k boxster can do

Mega evening. Still pumped from it. The old TC light has never seen so much action I'm sure

Now you had the desnorkle mod for a while how do you find it worth it or not much difference?

With PSE I don't think there is a massive difference but its one of those things that its hard to judge against what it was like before.....I just know its always PSE button on and if the roof is not down the windows are slightly open......and just listen to the engine sing :thumb:

Was going to ask how the 986 got on in such company 8) 8)

On that drive day? I can confirm that i either own the fastest 986 on the planet or I'm a driving God. :bandit:

Either works for me! They are cool cool cars.

A bit like the Monaco Grand Prix, it does not really matter who has the fastest car on those type of blasts, often I find the smallest car are the most fun on the B roads :thumb:

Jontt why you didn't have the roof down? Did the drive coincide with your new perm?

You know I can't remember properly but its up in one pic as we 'visited" the supermarket to meet up and use the toilet and I never leave the roof down if I'm not with the car, its then up in the pic at Ribble Viaduct as it was later on and a bit chilly :dont know: .......

I've been out for a night run tonight though, its that warm I had the roof down and aircon on full blast, superb :thumb:........cars always sound louder in the dark

Sounds like an amazing trip!

The 986 sure is small compared to most modern stuff.

I now own that orange Lotus "AV20 LOT" :D

Wow, small world.......that is one awesome sounding car.....such a presence on the road, I'm sure your having lots of fun in it

Harrie who had it still has an account on here but is Porscheless at the moment .......gone to the dark side of electric and I think blacklisted :floor:
He is driving some french thing at the moment which he calls a sports car (I sat in it and its actually nice but don't tell him I said that).....I know he misses the Lotus

Gibbo
The shame about buying that car is you don't get the full noise being in it, as you do being behind it. Mega. North Yorks are still getting over that drive day. :cop: :lock: :coat: :bandit:
