Good Afternoon All,

Please can anyone help with what I can do to increase the driver legroom in my 2002 996 C4. I need about another 2 or 3 inches (who doesnt) forward and back travel. I have manually operated seats but recently sat in a similar aged turbo model with electric seats and the drivers seat went alot further back. Is there any adjustments I can do or any seat rail extenders I can buy ? Thankyou.

My 997 GT3 seats are a lot lower and give a lot more room than standard, might be worth a thought.

Do the 997 seats give more clearance between your thighs and the bottom of the steering wheel?

There is some adjustment of height which might get you further back, cant remember which switch it is tho.

The 996 seats don't seem to go low enough? It is just the one lever for height and one electric knob for backrest adjustment?

Yes.

I'm 6'2 and with the seat all the way back and dropped about half way down I am happy to drive for a few hours without too much discomfort.

Once it the driving positions is perfect and three hours is no problem but I struggle to slide my legs between the seat and the steering wheel?

Have you moved the steering wheel upwards?

The manual says it only goes in and out?

i am 6ft 4 and the only time i have a problem with legroom is when i have my young uns in the back, but when its just front seats being used there is loads of room!
:dont know: :dont know:

It's not the legroom as such it's getting my leg in between the steering wheel and the seat squab front. The gap is too small.

oh right.....got ya,cant help you though...... :nooo: :nooo:

I may have to look for a smaller diameter steering wheel for it I think.

Hi,
Im 6'6 and I also think I need the wheel up a couple of inches, I am waiting on a new wheel from Carnewal which is slightly smaller plus im going to try and fit it with an eccentric hub spacer which will hopefully raise by another 30mm.

I also think there isn't enough long leg room as my gas pedal leg feels hunched up with the seat right back. The 993 had extra holes, but I looked at moving my 996 seat back but it only mounts through one set of holes.
