Missing Wheel Centre

Well, I blame the roads of Suffolk really - in some places awful and in others a dream to drive on.......BUT having driven down there on Monday night I get to notice something not right with the wheel and thinking maybe somthing tuck to the middle, but no the coloured wheel centre (only 4 months old) as come off and you can see the glue (or lack of) behind it that caused it to come loose in the first place.

On the plus side, called the local OPC and explained the predicament and he said assuming I have the original purchase invoice (which I do) then to come down and they will 'sort me out' - not sure if this means parting with lots of hard earned or a freebie due to the lack of age.........going down at the weekend to 'sort it'!

when i bought a set for my 924S back in 1993/94 they started corroding a few months later...........took it past the OPC and was given a complete new set FOC.........so fingers crossed for you

Well I got the original one that went missing replaced under warranty on Tuesday only to look at the car this morning to find another one missing....another trip to the OPC later and replaced FOC - they say there is a known problem with them and I should not be surprised when more fall off!

i've been buying wheel centres from a lady in germany from ebay at £55 a set in stead of £85 + vat in the uk,

when you put them on every car it maks a saving

I've beeen having reports of the centres dropping off,

3 dropped off 1 car whilst i was delivering it

simon at Porsch apart has had the same problems and i think hes starting re gluing the badges before he sells them

you can buy the badges from her at a £5 a go

so ive bought 15 and customers have been sending the centres back to me to have new badges stuck back on

Local OPC has also had the same problem, I've used araldite and know use worth silicone RTV which one of the mechanics gave me, seems to last better than the glue used at the factory,

I have had the problem on cars with the centres on the cars from new, so i dont think its because i've bought them cheap off ebay

On my first 996, the wheel centres were metal rimed, are they not any more.
