I have just polished my car with Meguiars ScratchX- I am very impressed and I am very much a Zymol afficionado (and remain so).

Whilst it does not tackle deeper scratches, swirl marks and light scratches and generally tired paint are improved really dramatically. It has really made a difference in a way that Clay bar and zymol hd cleanse on their own did not.

Combined then with hd cleanse and a coat of Zymol Concours my Arena red targa looks even more stunning!

Just thought I'd share that with you...

Robert.

Robert,

How much is the meguiars?

I have just had to sort my door out after some kind soul in a supermarket left a scratch right along the length of the door. Used Farecla products with a machine polisher and then the finished off with wax. This time P21S and the door ended up with a superb finish.

Realised that I now have Swissol Concorso, Victoria concours and P21S on different parts of the car and it is sparking.

Now thinking about redoing the whole car again with G3 & G10 then finish off with P21S to see it through winter.

Sounds right price-wise.

After I posted the above I tried it on a deeper scratch (could feel it with my fingernail) and whilst it did not remove it, it made in much less noticeable.

Looking at the car in the sun today it looks like new (except for the stonechips!). It is only under the harsh strip lights in the garage that you can still see some scratches. I reckon if I did it again, and worked a little harder, it would get rid of all the marks.

For the money it is the polish best product I've used.

Robert - how do you think it would work on dark colours - thinking about doing my "new" golf this weekend - its Black............................

Unless you have very noticeable scratches, I'd suggest the Polish instead. Less abrasive. :)

Arena red is reasonably dark and it worked v well on that.

FWIW, I doesn't seem to be especially abrasive- there is no paint colour on the cloths after use. All very mysterious...

...probably because you're only removing the laquer.

Robert,

If you ever get any colour on your cloth this means you have screwed up big time as you will have cut right through the clearcoat and got to the paint, which means a very expensive respray to sort things out.

Be careful!!!
