Me and my big feet!

I went for a test drive in a C2 manual yesterday, and as impressed as I was - there was just one thing niggling me today. I was wearing a pair of trainers, but I still caught the brake pedal with the side of my foot each time I moved back to the throttle. There just wasn't enough room between the brake pedal and the wheel well for my size 12's to get on the throttle!

Is there a fix for this? I'm sure I read somewhere that there is a way to bent the brake pedal to the left to give more room - or does this also mean bending the clutch arm too?

Also - do the seats actually recline, or is it all done by changing the angle? I didn't want to ask the dealer as he was a bit of a numpty :nooo:

I have size 11 and although I find a pair of nice Pilloti driving shoes help I can drive OK with "normal" shoes.

I think LHD would be the best/only real fix ?

I'm not 100% sure about all 993 seats. I have the full comfort seats with 8 way electric movement including recline etc....

Lotus pedals are much more close together the the 993 pedals, I've seen Lotus owner play about with aftermarket pedals, putting the outer one's right on the edge of the arm to create room in the middle. Perhaps you could move the brake and clutch to the left a bit? Or buy a tiptronic?
:)

Is it true what they say about guys with big feet? I assume so as my feet are tiny...

I'm a size 10 so never had a width problem, but I must admit to having had a length issue

A while ago I had a pair of work shoes that, whilst not being full blown winklepickers, did have an elongated front to them with a square toe such was (and I think still is) the fashion.

Anyhow they were rubbish for driving the 993, the front edge of the shoe kept catching the underside of the dashboard when going on and off the clutch. There was a sweet spot where the shoe just missed the dashboard and just got the ball of your foot on the pedal, but usually it was either catch the dashboard or clutch with your toes, neither of which I'd recommend.

Round toe shoes recommended for regular use :thumb:

I have size 11's and have no problems. Admitedly I struggle in timberland boots but anything sensible works fine. The bigger the feet the easier it will be to heel and tow. Maybe you should try some puma speedcats or similar.
