I can well understand the attraction to private or personalised plates, some of which take a wide degree of imagination to understand the meaning which is hoped to be conveyed, whereas some just want to disguise the age of their machine.. I have three letters and three numbers on my old crate, bought many years ago in vain attempt to make it look older, though reflective plates kinda undermines that..!
One story of plates that amused me and known to be true was someone who came to own a plate at a time of infancy in the marketability of such items, had a plate with his initials and a very low number, though it was a three letter plate and his initials were the outer two letters.... He then took to signing his correspondence with his full name and adopted middle letter as if it related to a non exhistant middle name.... Cheaper and less hassle than trying to find a real fit..
