Lubricating rear spoilers

The spoiler on my 997.2 is a bit juddery when going up or down (more on the down).
I understand this can be solved with lubrication but does this just involve spraying a bit of WD40 on the 2 rams at either side or something a bit more technical? :?
 
There are two lubrication holes on the receptacles for the rams. I squirted some dry lube in there (use it for my bike) and it seemed to work.
