Looking to hunt down my old 986 - 1997 2.5 tiptronic - reg L80 XST

I'm trying to locate my beloved old Boxster.

It's an all original 1997 arctic silver tiptronic. Car is featured here: http://www.radiocafe.co.uk/zold/def_pp4.htm - this was way back in 2005 so you can see how much I loved the car.

If you know this car or its whereabouts, I would be so delighted if you could pass on any info.

It was sold through the fantastic PorschaCare/Renn Works* in Stevenage in Feb 2022, having been with them for a while before. I sold it while going through a really tough time as a result of serious illness and bereavement - but I never should have done so as I always planned on keeping the car forever.

I'd love to find out if the new owner might possibly sell the car back. It's long shot - but I guess you never know.

*I highly recommend Renn Works, having used a couple of indies in London previously who were a total nightmare. Matt @ PorschaCare couldn't have been kinder, what a top bloke; he gave my car the very best treatment since 2015.

I’ve seen your post on Pistonheads & Boxa.net, good luck with your search.

Have you also enquired on some of the Facebook groups? There seems to be many Boxster / Porsche related groups in UK, might help with the search.

Thanks Boxstercol. Yes I must sign up to that Facebook thing.

The plot just thinnened as L80XST is now showing up as SORNed. Which might be good news, if I eventually manage to speak to the garage who sold the car and they know of buyer’s whereabouts. Quite a big if* though.

No luck yet hunting down the car, but I've also started to look for a replacement - ideally a good facelift S, must be in silver, tiptronic (an Anniversary 550 would be fabulous). Figure if I cannot locate my old 2.5 I need to find something that ticks some extra boxsts.

I've now signed up to the Facebook groups - great suggestion, some very friendly folks have been super-helfpul.

Write to the DLVA and ask if they will send your details to the owner and he/she may contact you
