Leaving my car

Hi Fella's

I wonder if you could help me with a dilemma. I'm off to the Hamptons NY for a few weeks and I'm going to be leaving the car in the garage. I've left it before for a couple of weeks and had no problems on my return, but I'm going for a month and wonder what precautions I should take.
Should I leave it full of petrol or try to get it as low as poss??
I think the battery would be ok because, as I said, I've left it for a few weeks previously and it's started first time but I'm a bit concerned about fluids left sitting, tyre flat spots, handbrake sticking etc etc

Any tips much appreciated

Matt

a few weeks is nothing, a few months is a different story...

For a month it should be fine. I was always told you should leave them with 2/3rd of a tank but I doubt that is important for only a month.

What is more important is to talk to her before you go. Explain that you are coming back and she is not being abandoned.

They never understand. I've tried to tell her she is the only one for me and I'm not interested in the red Ferrari I'm going to be with in NY. "It's only work" I say, but do they listen.... Do they hell!!! :) :)

Matt, you had better explain it to her the right way.

All of the cars I have ever owned have been female, that is with the exception of Ferraris and Mercs. The former were known as Freddie and Freddie II and the Mercs all known as Billy (as in Billy Benz). So just position the car in NY as one of the lads, an Italian American who is fun to be with but not the most reliable of friends. She will understand, as will you when you return, unlock teh car, disable the alarm get in let the engine start with the briefest turn of the key and out onto the open road.

You old Romeo Sean. You really know how to charm a car round to your way of thinking.
Does it work so well with your Wife?? :) :)

No my wife just puts up with me. I do however think that she takes some comfort from my restricting charm to the ladies with four wheels rather than 2 legs.
