I'm thinking of getting a new 997 Targa not having had a Porsche before and am getting some resistance from dealers to leasing rather than owning - anyone leased a new Porsche rather than buying?

cheeky Porsche for resisting, but there are great deals to be had on leasing as well..... they just earn more money on direct customer sales !

997 Targa, very nice ! what spec are u thinking of....

There are certainly some deals to be had via contract hire on cars however typically where a manufacturer heavily discounts a car which is bought in bulk by contract hire company.

I have never seen a situation where a contract hire deal on a Porsche 911 is cheaper than a Hire Purchase deal for an individual where there are no tax / VAT benefits to be had. Buying a 911 through a company is very heavy on company car tax so outweighs any other benefits.

Contract hire is fairly restrictive on mileage, condition and also very difficult to get out of early.

I would recommend a Lease Purchase Balanced Payments plan with sensible balloon that it at your own risk / reward. If you would like details PM me.
