Labour rates...

I have a vibration coming from the front wheels at 60+, and am having the wheels balanced again.

Decided to have it done by an OPC as they are going to road test it and hopefully do a proper job on porker spec kit. They are charging £58.50 inc vat (1/2 hours labour), which will be fine if it is just the balancing.

But it made me think... £117 inc vat per hour. Nice work if you can get it!

I'm not so sure Robert - my solicitor charges £140 an hour.

And I would rather have someone giving my Porsche some professional TLC for £117 an hour than be talked-down-to and fed b*llsh*t for £140 an hour! :wink:

does your OPC not charge you a reduced rate as its a 993?...............my OPC just told me they charge £70+vat p/h due to the age of the car

I think OPC's have to charge excessively high hourly rates to fund the coffee machines, B&O Hi-Fi and 4-ply toilet paper……………..what more can I say.




I waited over an hour for an OPC to tell me that the key fob they had ordered for me would not work as it was the wrong part........ :?
fortunately they did not charge me.

To be fair, just got back from having my car done- the dealer in question was OPC Solihull.

They did a great job- did well over 1 hrs work, two road tests, and only charged me for 1/2 hour as originally agreed and kept me informed throughout.

The problem's fixed, I had a couple of very nice cappucinos and spent a thoroughly agreeable hour or so looking at their Carrera GT and the receptionists.

All in all, I came away impressed from my first OPC experience!
