Ever since I was 6 years old I had Porsche on my mind. I had all Porsche posters all over my bedroom walls, I ALWAYS raced Porsches in games and always dreamt about having one... I'm 25 and my dreams have come true!

Test drove a Porsche Cayman S 2006 3.4ltr manual last Sunday and loved it; Put deposit down! Really excited to be the new owner :) only done 40,000miles and has lower tax bracket which is really cheeky :)

Noticed the Insurance was super cheap for me being under £1000 :) Anyone know if I can get it cheaper?

Anything I should keep an eye out for? Any recommendations on exhaust systems to get more power? looking at getting 325bhp if possible.

Thank you! look forward to posting on here in the coming future.

Welcome to the clan! Realising a life-long dream is indeed a dream come true. I would say forget about power upgrades. Just learn to drive a mid-engined car for now. If you need to go faster then invest in some driver skill tuition courses. A fast car does not make a fast driver - more a skillfull driver will make quicker progress from A to B.

Welcome to the forum . Lovely looking motor mate !
Enjoy ; )

Thank you :)

Should I worry about bore scoring? any other issues I need to get looked at professionally?

Tymothy I haven't got a clue lol but I'm sure there's a lot of knowledgeable gentleman on this forum . That's one of the reasons I've become a member .

Okay thank you :) I took out a three year warranty on the car with VGS. Hopefully this will give me a peace of mind.

Don't worry about it any more than any other major fault the car can develop, just make sure you have a plan in place to cover the costs of repairs.

Otherwise just enjoy one of the best things Porsche have built

That looks like the same spec as mine. It's even got the same wheels. :)

It's quite a quick little car once you get it above about 4k RPM. I'd say enjoy it as it is for a while before thinking about power upgrades. :)

The 3.4 is susceptible to bore scoring; mine had a borescope inspection done pre-purchase. It's a bit late since you've already bought it but for peace of mind it might be worth doing anyway.

I'd check the T&Cs of the warranty to see if it covers bore scoring.

I've asked them to do a borescope inspection. He said that's fine. :)

Also how much do you think the cars worth having only 40k on the clock?

Brand new tyres, paintwork detailing, full 12 months MOT, 7 Months Tax. Leather refurbished, Engine Serviced, exhaust chrome cover around exhaust re-sprayed.

What if I said £16995 :)

I'd guess £19k - £20k.

:floor: (sorry BTB)

There's several on Autotrader, including Tym's, for sub £18k.
