Well whilst most of you where either coming back from the what sounds like a brilliant trip to Llandow, or recovering, I have spent the day in the fresh air giving her the full monty.

Started about 11.00 and finish about 18.30 and have washed, clayed, cleaned, waxed and done the rubber bits. Tomorrow I get to put another coat of wax on and clay, clean, wax the wheels and do the interior.

Managed to persuade the wife to disappear for the weekend with the little man, but she kindly took the digital camera with her so no before and after and no after until Monday, DOH

Anyway, it looks the dogs danglies very glass like. Tried to put a sheet over the top to keep her dust free until tomorrow, but the paintwork is so shinny that the thing won't stay on. Don't tell the wife that I used one of her bed sheets, danglies will be cut off
The reflections are amazing and the garage smells delightful, all vanilla!

Just hope that tomorrows promised sunshine happens so I can get her finished. Then of course can't possibly drive her is it will mess up the shine before next weeks local PCGB region concours! Not entering, but still want to kick ass!

Off to have a few beers, nice bit of fillet and a loverly bordeaux,!

Mark.

Bloody hell, big respect to G-Unit and the various detailers around. Just finished and taken TWO days for heavons sake. She does look the business though, but £400 to pay someone to do it strikes me as good value for money. I feel like I have gone a couple of rounds with Tyson, just about every bone in my body aches! I assume these guys don't do that many in a week.

Still, there is a great deal of pleasure in the results, but I think I have had enough or car cleaning for a couple of weeks!

Hopefully pics tomorrow when the wife gets back with the camera.

:D

Mark,

fancy doing mine, the state it's in after Llandow is horrific :(

Took mine to the local hand wash today to get the worst of Llandow off so I'll do it again in the morning - properly

Spend half my life talking to myself, can't understand a word I am going on about though :?

I have had enough washing/polishing to last at least a week or two, so not doing it. Any way drought conditions have returned to York today, she is staying in the garage, can't face getting her dirty :(

I did wash mine this morning after getting some conflicting reports about whether there was a total ban on washing cars here.....just to get all the salt water and dirt off.....will have to take it somewhere I guess to get a real wash now......

Well this isn't a brilliant photo, done in the garage last night under a flurescent tube and is a little grainy and not a 100% in focus, but does give you an idea of how shinny the car is.

Really must take the recycling down to the tip, and if the weather would just improve I could get the BBQ out of the way!

Very nice, love that wide body!
Hey G-Unit how long does it take you to do the whole job, does that include the interior? How many do you do a week? I have deep respect for your work after spending two days at it. Ached like hell Saturday night

Its a difficult question to answer. Whole load of different factors. No car is ever the same.

I have done 2 range rover sports for example, 1 interior took 1.5 hours, the other took 4 hours. Another good example was Rob C's GT3, I spent alot of time decontaminating it, I love that car.

On average though I would say 9-12 hours straight with maybe a 20 min break for a chocolate and a Dr Pepper. :D

There have been times where paint correction is needed so it can take over 1 day. i.e a Lambo I did which took about 22 hours. The bonnet took nearly 4 hours and bearing in mind a Gallardo bonnet is probably no more than 1m sq in total.

To tell you the truth it is tiring but its worth the effort to see the end result in my opinion.

Looks very good Mark, however judging from reflection the garage could do with a good tidy
