This has long been a bug bare with me regarding wttys, what is the point of taking an insurence policy out, if it doesnt cover what may happen.

Nothing fails unless its worn out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So ultimately that means that nothing is covered.

It is a bit like taking a pension and then being told Ohh sorry didnt realise you were actually going to live long enough to receive it.

These damn wttys make me so angry

Name and shame your OPC mate

By the way ask them if an electric window motor is covered under warranty i would of thought it is, and if so ask them to prove to you that the sound proofing was at fault, if they cant i suggest you tell them you will be taking your case to PGB if they dont provide some type of good will gesture.

The way i see it you left your car in good faith and under warranty if you were going to get hit with a bill like that you should at least be advised before hand!!. How do they know you haven't got a mechanic mate that can get the parts from the breakers job done for £200

See what they say.

Looks pretty cut and dried to me- get them to show you the part of the OPC warranty which excludes this.

Whatever the outcome, don't get the repair done at the thieving lot, and tell them so! (but only once you've exhausted every avenue with them...)

Check warranty wording. If you still think it's covered, go back to the OPC. if still no joy, get it fixed (at the OPC if need be) and sue the OPC via the small claims court.

what a cop out!! if the regulator is busted then its busted regardless of whether or not the
bl@@dy
soundproofing has fallen away, which is just a sticky bit of plastic if my memory serves me!! OPC's really p1ss me off (sorry thats my rant over) it really should be at the technicians/service advisors discretion. Boo

i once heard a statistic from a law professor that liability insurere reject 70% of claims on the basis that many people give up at the first hurdle.

Sounds to me that you at least have an arguable case.

There appears to be no dispute that the regulator failed. Its the cause of the failure that is the dispute and therfore the real issue. I would say to the OPC that it is up to them to show that the failure was in fact caused by the soundproofing and if so the clause in the warranty that they rely upon to exclude liability.
