Insurance costs

I am current considering purchasing an early 911, either a 3.0 or 3.2, as a weekend car but I’m concerned about Insurance costs as this would be a large proportion of my running costs.
I’ve currently got a GP Spyder which costs me £140 per year for Insurance and I don’t have to pay road tax.

What are other people’s experiences?

Obviously Insurance varies a lot by geography, age of driver etc. If you get a classic car policy you should be able to get it insured for under £500 but probably not a lot under. Depends on the above though.

My '85 Carrera 3.2 with agreed value, parked on driveway (not garage) in London limited to 4,000 miles p.a. costs £250 for Insurance.

This includes UK and European recovery and free fully comp. European cover up to 92 days per year. I've just turned 39.

This is through Carole Nash - a supporter of PCGB and they advertise in the usual places. Very happy with them so far.

You should certainly get them to quote.
