anyone recently renewed their Insurance

was previously with liverpool victoria - £800

renewal is ........£1150! hhhmmnnnn no accidents no new speeding offences no change of post code ... nothing - just a year older (wiser?) and now only use the car at weekends oposed to business miles! ggggrrrr

any ideas - seems as if they go in cycles between one insurer to another?

Try Elephant.....paying about 740 on the GT3....fully protected, best quote I got by a margin...& they allowed me a full NCB on the RRS, despite having none to transfer.

Bell Direct - very competitive in my experience. Priviledge also good.

I think Norwich Union are still doing a good deal - 14 months for the price of 12. Cheapest quote I had by far but with an excess of £620

First Alternative via the net, were cheaper than Norwich, Privilige, Direct Line, Bell and Adrian Flux for me this time around. £744 Protected NCD London post code . Some companies wanted a tracking device which I don't have.

I'm with Privilige too but will be reviewing this when it's up for renewal. Just hope you never have to make a claim with them even if it's not your fault. Someone ran up the back of my TT at some traffic lights in May 2004 and he was insured. It cost my employers a fortune in my time and phone calls as I had to do virtually all of the chasing of all parties myself. They even managed to lose the repair quote between the claims office and the engineers and didn't even tell me or ask for another copy. The only reason I renewed with them in April this year was because they didn't sort out the VAT with the other Insurance company by then and were still showing it against me 10 months after the crash. I couldn't go looking for alternative quotes with the claim hanging over me.

Quite the worst customer service I've ever come across.

Rant over.

Was very impressed with Performance Marque- gave a PCGB discount, only insure Porsches, great service and seemed competitive.

It is worth considering the service side/quality of cover as the saving on the premium could easily be outweighed by costs down the line in a claim...

If you are not already on one, get it on a classic policy, especially since it only has weekend use. You should see the premium tumble.

I use RH Specialist and pay £320!

just got a quote via adrian flux - £723 - sounding better - but now as its a bit of a garage queen classic limited mileage may be the way

will try aon and rh - any ideas if a 96 car qualifies for classic status? - i know it used to be 10 years or older?

Insurance supermarket
or the one on autotrader

one form does the running around for you free and gives you an idea on who's cheap

Try confused.com always interesting!!

I got quotes from £1600-£800

£800 with Norwich Union which I decided on in the end.

Was at the Classic Car show at the weekend and PCGB were talking about AON lots.

Complete headache the Insurance lark! Hate it when some company says we can beat your previous quote!! grrrrr

Oh god I remembered that from an add!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..
