Induction KIt

Hi all

Finally had my low temp thermostat fitted today to my 2004 c4s been thinking for a while about a induction kit, anybody fitted one and if so which one did you opt for,

Hi Dave

When I was looking for an induction kit for the carrera I used the search feature on this forum. Loads of info came up, so I suggest trying that.

In the end I went with a K&N panel filter and the resonator bypass pipe. Make sure you remove the resonator as this increases the surface area of the filter. I have to say I did notice an improvement in power. Even more than when I wash my car and give it a coat of the waxy stuff

I was really happy with it. There was a little more power, it gave an nice induction sound and to the untrained eye looked completely standard.
Kept the standard air box, removed the resonator box blanking off the hose connection, K&N filter and silicon induction hose. Love the change in tone from the engine not huge but just a little bit more of a roar as you pass 4000 rpm.
+1 really. I went for the BMC & the Design Tek Cold Air Induction kit (which I must say seemed to be rather expensive for what amounts to being just a nice plastic pipe!). But the way that I look at it is I've managed to kick the crack pipe for good now - so I bloody well deserve it!

There might be some more oomph but hard to tell. Definitely some increased induction sound. I also removed the resonator box (note my DIY plumbing to block the hole!) - this alone dramatically increases the air flow over the top of the filter - that box is substantially space-occupying.

Overall, quite pleased. The filter is so much better than a cardboard one!

Another question re this thread has anyone tried the Eurocup induction kit and if so does it need to be modified for a Tiptronic?
All Tips need a breather filter.

This is either via the "Y" spur or an independent filter.

See the thread linky above.
Thanks for the info GT4

Mine didn't as it has no vapour extraction pipe.
Apologies, Winklep has a 996.2.

All Carrera 3.6 Tips.

3.4 only with relevant emissions standards (this is dependent on block revision and country of sale, until late 996.1 and all 996.2 "World" engines)
