I'm surprised this hasn't sold?

With all the high prices being asked, instigated mainly by me, I'm surprised this pre-varioram 993 in Polar Silver hasn't sold, especially to all you Goths who want a black interior.

Price is fair. A forum member. Anyone seen it?

Maybe because it's hovering around the 100K miles (silly really).
Might do better if it had 110K on it & had got past the psychological barrier.
Looks like a nice car at first glance.

That's an interesting thought. It could well be indicative of a buyer reluctance to be the one to take it through the three figure barrier - certainly not within, say, their first year of ownership.

As you say, silly really.

As it has been advertised since August this year, I wonder if it has now gone past 100k.

The biggest bills in my cars history are between 80k and 120k, I would not touch any high price 80k car until it's done at least another 40,000 miles, is cheaper to buy, and has had all the 'low mileage' stuff fixed by some other mug.

I think to sell a car like this privately you really do need to put some effort into your advert detailing service history and all work that has been done to the car. The more information the better, that is as long as it is a good car. This and some nice photos may help.

I'd agree with this. I wanted a post 100K one so to get that out the way (109K).
Now at 121K and blimey ................ by the time its done 125K I think I'll just about replaced everything thing other than the rear demister :x

Saying that, she's got to run. The wet has got the better of her and she's powerless and sodden and looking pretty damn sorry for herself at the btm of my garden. :nooo:

Worth it everytime I (can) drive her though.

If that car passes all 'basic' checks, at that price or thereabouts I'm suprised it hasn't been snapped up! Looks like a bargain to me (unless it needs significant bodywork attention, or is Cat C or D, in which case should have some price adjustment but then well worth grabbing).

Lets get this into perspective, at that age that mileage is not high.

Overpriced + Engine rebuild = move on :dont know:

More clarity required

Kims right, surprised it hasn't sold, looks like a nice car. As an engine rebuild is expensive its overal pricing is fair and understandable. Would be a good proposition to someone wanting to delve a little further into its history, I'd certainly look into it if I were in the market.

Just to be clear, that was a figure of speech and I'm not calling the previous owners of my car 'mugs'.

The point I meant to make is when a car costs £5k more because it's got 40,000 miles less than another car, then look at the money spent in the last 40k miles of the high miler just to make it worth £5k less, chances are the low mile car has had none of that work done and you are paying a premium to be the owner that spent all the money required to get it to the high miles and be worth less.

Blimey, join that paragraph end to end and it would just loop...
:?:

:? I'm with you :thumb: You spend £5k low mileage premium you then spend £5k as the mileage increases to end up with a 100k miles car that is valued as it stands. Although you would if you applied the 'model' to two cars at the point of initial purchase - one low miles, the other higher miles, the higher miles car would now be on c140k. So the transition of cost comparison arises from the difference in what you spent against what someone with a 100k +40k spent. Then subtract the value difference between both cars at the point of sale. Note the wiper widget should not be included as a sign of good provenance.* :?

Completely agree that the Ad and especially the images could be better.

And once upon a time, (and maybe still) it would have been in very nice condition being sold at Cameron Sports Cars.

2059 views and no takers.

That's on par with some of my ebay listings.

Thanks, I kind of got lost there.

Tell you what? You lend me £10 but only give me £5, then you will owe me £5 and I will owe you £5 so we can call it quits.

:floor: Isn't it a scaled up version of this logic that caused the banking crisis?

Don't forget to factor in a discount for cash. Cash is king. :thumb:
