Clubsport interior that is ....

no carpets, headlining, full clubsport cage for proper rigity, RS buckets and (in my case) gorgous speed yellow paint everywhere .... oh , and a new roof that has no sunroof

a tempting stage 3 project IMO

Honest question, how noisy/tiring would the ride become on a lengthy road trip? Would any discomfort be minimal and acceptable when paired against, what undoubtedly IMO, is a very cool interior. It does look good.
Roro would advise against changing, what is to some, the already perfect colour.

Would like to see it when you get it into your life.

You had better start removing the carpet glue now

it will be noisy ... no doubt about it

but that will add to the fun IMO

Clubsport over on PCGB, has one.
A real one.
Just like that.
Roll cage , and no soundproofing at all.
I sat in it one Sunday afternoon.

Its like sitting in a biscuit tin.
You know the sound of those red square assorted biscuit tins, yeah?
When you open or shut them.
The resonance.
Well just like that.

Let me tell you, its not fun.
Its very far from fun.
In fact, its awful.
You don't need it in your life.
You need it about as much as you need a box of tampons.
And don't start defending Tampons, with tales of there incredible cleaning qualities.
How they soak up water.
Because they just disintegrate

It'll ruin your car.
Just have the sunroof out of it.
That'd be cool

And stick an RS badge in the middle of the bootlid.
Right in the middle.
And measure it exactly.

And we can all point at you.
And say,
"Look, there goes Rich.
There goes Rich.
In his RS.
There he goes.
And you'll be like.
Very cool.

you will need some of these in your life aswell

Car needs a cage, thats th motivation

And if it has a replica CS cage then the headlining has to come out

So that means the carpets do too and you may as well fill the sunroof

And then after that, you really should put the cs bodykit on it as well

Its all part of a whole package you see

Perfect .... you can get those with a CB radio mic attached as well !

... That interior is an amazing colour...

I wonder if anyone has been mad enough to completely strip out their GT3 :?:

Not even I would contemplate removing all insulation totally. Unless I was converting just purely to a trackday car, but I'm sure that would be borderline deafening without ear protection, even with a helmet on.

Why is it that the carpets have to come out if you remove the headlining....?

It makes sense.
It makes perfect sense.
You know it makes sense.

I need Tampons in my life, they're great for cleaning the pipes on the aquarium.

I think Jackal's proposition is a sound one. My old R26.R had a bit more soundproofing than that in that the interior carpets remained, but that's about all. I actually think it added to the experience.

The only stripped out car I've been in recently that had gone too far for road is my pal in Denmark's MX5. This car has gone on such a diet that beyond the stripped out carpet-less / soundproofing-less interior; the door cards have been replaced with aluminium panels, the passenger side of the dash has been sawn off, all roof mechanism removed and a fibre-glass hard-top has been riveted in place, plus the interior bracing and both sets of hinges have been removed from the boot and bonnet.

What you are proposing for the 993 is really quite modest.
